Maybe this is the year I get some personal writing back up.
At the tail end of 2023, I thought about how I wanted to map out this new year. I’m not one for resolutions, they’re too easy to quit and forget but I enjoy picking a word I hope will encapsulate the time.
I landed on intentional.
In a fast-moving world, I want to be intentional with how and who I spend my time with.
Where convenience is the so-called king, I want to be intentional with the food I put in my body. Being a little better is a step in the right direction! Better is better, right?
I’m setting goals to be intentional with how I spend my time and what I spend my money on.
So far this year, I’ve given myself grace with slow mornings. They’re truly my favorite way to start the day and I feel like I could sit and drink coffee by the window or on the porch until the sun beams too bright… then I’ll grab sunglasses and continue. Working from home is all I’ve ever known for the last 5 years and before that starting time was 10am. I’ve always been able to have a few slow mornings throughout the week. I said that to say, 1 cup of get-in-the-groove coffee each morning is spent enjoying on the porch or using my front window as a greenhouse as the sun rises and beams in. The second cup, that’s when the laptop opens.
In between the first and second cups of hot bean water (I like my coffee black okay), I’ve been reading and journaling some notes and thoughts.

Maybe I’ll share some of my second cup of coffee thoughts with you in the mornings moving forward. For now, I’ve been sipping on @buddybrewcoffee from my friend Aubrey Ann and her new store @thefloridaroom_wh.
The coffee – it’s delicious.
Her store – amazing. If you’re local to Winter Haven, Florida, go visit!
Intending to have a lot more guilt-free slow mornings and second cup of coffee thoughts this year. ☕️
