Flying to Hawaii on a budget
We had our hearts set on a Hawaiian honeymoon but knew it’d be more expensive than our other destinations. When we finally decided to just eat the cost (you only have one honeymoon right?), I looked at flights in the $1500 range for two round-trip tickets and decided to keep monitoring prices. I signed up for Southwest’s email newsletters and also set up Google alerts for other airlines. Not only was the wait worth it but I found out about the sale through their emails, making the extra emails in my inbox totally worth it!

Snag Deals, But Be Strategic
The June sale doesn’t apply to every single route. While you might not see the discount for every flight path, if it applies to your desired Hawaii destination, you’re looking at a steal. Look at the Low Fare Calendar if you can be flexible on your travel dates. We had that luxury and chose a Monday-to-Monday trip, the cheapest option. Unsolicited wedding advice: It was really nice to be home for the weekend between our wedding (Friday) and flying out on our honeymoon (Monday).
